Beta welcomes new additions to the team

A new year sees three new faces at Beta Technology – Paul Bathgate, Naila Croft and Octavio Pernas.

Beta is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Bathgate to the board as a non-executive director. Paul has spent the past 10 years leading business development and influencing strategic change across a number of businesses and markets. He has a strong pedigree for increasing the efficiency of operational assets to support business growth and increase returns on capital.  Paul has extensive knowledge and experience of the defence and logistics markets and has a proven track-record for delivering high-value projects in complex, multi-cultural environments. He is quick to identify innovation and deliver growth through innovative commercial solutions. With a professional background founded in electronic systems engineering in support of military communications and information systems, Paul has extensive experience of deployed operations; sufficient to understand the importance of teamwork.

Originally from Brazil, Dr Naila Croft has joined the Beta team as a senior associate. With a technical background in metallurgy Naila will be supporting the annual Charles Hatchett Award. Naila brings over 30 years’ experience, mainly within the Brazilian specialty metals manufacturing industry, including the aerospace, nuclear, medical and petrochemical sectors.

Finally, Dr Octavio Pernas has come to Beta from the Galicia region of North West Spain. He will take on the role as the UK’s Framework Programme 7 National Contact Point for Health. Octavio brings previous experience in European research and development funding and technology transfer in both research organisations and private consultancies. Octavio is a life scientist, having a PhD in Veterinary Medicine, with a specific emphasis in pharmacology.
