On behalf of Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineração (CBMM), Beta has set up and now manages an Editorial Committee to oversee the publication of proceedings arising from seminars and symposia sponsored by the client. The Editorial Committee ensures that the proceedings are of a high quality to effectively disseminate research results and technical information on the science and technology of niobium. Beta also liaises with the publishers, The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), and disseminates the publications to a wide audience, in particular the end users of niobium-bearing steels.
In addition to reviewing the technical content, the Committee also edits the papers to ensure they follow the formats specified by the publisher and are presented to a high standard of English. Support is also provided to the authors of the papers to prepare high quality images and diagrams.
To date, the Editorial Committee has been responsible for the following publications: Proceedings of the International Seminar on Welding of High Strength Pipeline Steels; Fundamentals and Applications of Molybdenum and Niobium Alloying in High Performance Steels Volume 1; Fundamentals and Applications of Molybdenum and Niobium Alloying in High Performance Steels Volume 2; Microalloyed Steels for Sour Service International Seminar and Value-Added Niobium Microalloyed Construction Steels Symposium. If you would like to receive a copy of any of the publications please contact Lynsey Greenwood.
CBMM is the world’s premier supplier of niobium and niobium technology. The most important use of niobium is as an alloying element to strengthen steel, with main applications in the oil and gas, automotive and structural sectors.
